Does not recognize product key after reinstallation
After having some challenges with a MB install I had to reload Win7 RC. When I get to the product key screen and input the original key I continue to get the message 'the product key is not valid. please retype the product key.' I've rechecked and re-entered a number of times. Any suggestions? thanks/Dr. Norm

Dr Norm - You might want to double and triple check the product key for theusual stuff - B's that look like 8's and vice versa and so on... If that fails to work, go ahead and install Windows 7 WITHOUT the product key. Then go back to the RC release site and get another product key. All versions of Windows since Vista (actually XP SP3) allow you to install a copy of the software WITHOUT entering a product key and it'll be fully functional for 30 days. Be sure to install the Ultimate version ONLY - if you're asked for a version. After you get the key, click on the link to Activate Windows - found by clicking the Start Orb and typing Activate - that will give you the link to Activate Windows in the Control Panel. Since you can have a copy of IE open with the product key, you can flip back and forth or even copy and paste the key code directly from the web page. That, if nothing else, should eliminate any potential typos.Let us know how it goes...
