Does my antivirus work on both operating systems when dual booted
My HDD is partitioned and I have Vista on C: and Windows 7 RC on D: with no problems so far. I would like to know whetherNorton 360 installed on C: covers me when I have Windows 7 booted. Or do I have to install it on D: as well?

If you installedNorton 360 on Windows Vista, you must reinstall it on Windows 7. It depends on OS, not drive C: or D:.Thanks.

I got KNOWN COMPATIBILITIES ISSUES with Norton Internet Security Suite on my Win7 RC. It installed after ignoring that warning but every time I tried to connect to the internet, Norton wanted to know whether to allow this new network connection for both schost incidents and the IE8.exe. Checking the remember this always box did not mean a thing. Happened every time. And just forget about ZoneAlarm Firewall. Microsoft needs to be gathering logs and reports constantly so ZA is NOT ALLOWED.

Can you clarify your point please? If you are looking for antivirus software that works on win7, try Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. (malwarebytes.org )- JoelbX

I finally got tired of the action center alert "You have no Antivirus Protection" and downloaded the free version of AVG which everybody including Microsoft says will work on Win7.Guess what?Still get alerts because every reboot wants to know if I would like to turn on my Antivirus "RECOMMENDED" and then as I right click for run as Administrator Fade Out to do you want to run this program that makes changes to your system!!!Apparently the new security features are tomake anyone using the desktop swear under oath that they are the owner. Gotta love catch22. If you is, you aint, and if you aint you can still be.IT standards are so wonderful because there are so very many of them to choose from.

Yep, the problem I have is malwarebytes doesn't register to Windows as a anti-virus program, so Windows still complains that no antivirus is installed. I don't get why action center has to say that there is no anti-virus installed though, Windows Defender is installed during the windows install, so there is antivirus software on there already...- JoelbX

I'm running Norton Internet Security 2010 on my Win7, and NIS 2009 on my Win XP. The new version is really sweet. Integrates seamlessly with Windows 7, and very fast. I probably could have installed a 2nd copy of NIS 2009 on Windows 7, since I have an extra license, but I got a free copy of 2010. FW
