Hello up there-- I am running windows 7 on an Asus machine. I had some files on an old dell running windows XP which I brought to this machine by a thumb drive. Ok then. I have spent more time than one could believe trying to do simple tasks as this program just keeps on going and undoing whatever I do. I phoned Microsoft and asked about the program as if it were a virus.The gentelman I spoke with told me quietly that the program would do no harm and that it was just running in the background... WELL!!! EXCUSE ME. Who ever is at the other end of this thing is looking at everything I do and stopping me from doing things. I amunable to leave "my homegroup" . Every inch of my harddrive has been looked at and re-arranged. I would like to know how Microsoft has on this website (I noticed as I came here for the first time) all these items including a MigWiz download!am aware the thing in my machine came from a site called Members Gear. I have tried to speak with them and no way are they going to tell me how to un-do this thing. I want to know WHY I cannot get this thing to stop spying on me and recording everything I do and say.. Literally. I have erased fiiles and watched as my machine, not connected to the net, WiFi off, has changed files, stopped me from accessing others and out anything all around made me VERY NERVOUS about anything I do... You see I have discovered the machine recording my conversations sto put itmin another room if I want any privacy.. BIG BROTHER! PLEASE-- tell me why microsoft would let a thing like the world ON PURPOSE. the tech I spoke with I would like to know why the tech I spoke with told me "not to worry about it" and that it would do no harm... Is this being done on purpose? Really.... Tell me is this program desigened to report back to microsoft on someon's behalf? I want it GONE. It is a BUG in my LIFE. Please tell me what and why it is being offered for download on microsoft's site. I have always had Mac's and now I am starting to understand why-- At least I never FOUND anything in one of them like this and Apple sure as heck is not giving away programs that turn on you and report to who knows who or what. Hi, Do you mean MigWiz.exe? As far as I know this program is just for Windows Easy Transfer. If you are worried about this program, I would like suggest you using MSE to scan your system or stop all the related processes in your Task Manager. Also you can try to download the process monitor to check this Program. Finally can you tell me how did you discover the machine record your conversation?Spencer TechNet Community Support
