Does an Event log get created when a Windows 7 PC connects to a VPN
I am trying to verify if someone logged on to a VPN by looking at the logs created on their windows 7 PC. Does anybody know if a log is created and if so what ns1:EventID is it? I want to filter and export the log as xml and view in excel to retrieve the logs to determine what date and time this person connected to a VPN. Is this possible?PKWW

Hi, Maybe you can just find a error VPN log information from Event Viewer. Such like a vpn client type a wrong password to connect a VPN server. You can filter these logs by using the source name"Remote Access" If you want find a client information, one way i find is that using Windows firewall. But it just record the IP address. This way as show below: 1.Open Control Panel-->All control Panel Items 2.Find Windows Firewall. on the left side, you can find Advanced settings option and click it. 3. Choosing the Monitoring--->Security Associations--->Main Mode. You can get IP address information about a VPN client.
