Does Windows 7 Support Symbolic Links?
Hi there,I'm researching an issue in which Windows 7, Vista, and Windows 2008 Server cannot delete user profiles host on an EMC SAN (The error says that I require permission from the user, even if I AM the user). XP and 2003 Server do not have this issue and can delete the same files without any problems.During my research I've been looking into some of the new features introduced in Vista and up that may be responsible for this issue. I'm away of UAC and have tried all settings related to that without success. I also see that support for Windows Symbolic Links was introduced with Vista (see link) however I can't find out if Windows 7 also supports it. Does anyone know?http://techblissonline.com/ntfs-symbolic-link-or-symlink-in-windows-vista-and-windows-server-2008/

Hi Dbutch1976, Short answer: Yes. Windows 7 supports Symbolic Links. There is a simple way to verify it. Run a CMD window, and run MKLINK command you will see how to use this command to make a Symbolic Link. Thanks.
