I've read an article here - http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2008/03/10/what-s-new-with-backup-and-restore-on-vista-sp1.aspx where was written: "With SP1, you can use Complete PC Restore to a new motherboard that uses previously absent disk controller. That means, if the new hardware requires an inbox driver that was previously disabled when the Complete PC backup was taken, the required critical driver will be enabled in the last stage of the restore to ensure the machine will be bootable. " So, I've created System Image of 32-bit Win7 Machine (Core2) and tried to deploy it to different hardware (CoreQuad, different motherboard, different disk(larger than source disk!)). System fails during startup. What is could be the problem? Many thanks in advance!

1.Generally chances are good when the chipset and HDD controller are from the same family in new hardware. ( I had similar experience in servers when I transfer disks with raid controller to anothe hardware). 2.If you are around to transfer image to quite different hardware look into WAIK documentation. 3. Hi, We dont recommend you to restore the Windows 7 image to a great hardware changes environment. According to my experience, I replaced hard disk and performed full system restore with no issue. If you replace motherboard, CPU and disks, you need to reactivate your system.Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support

Well, I have tried to do that 3 times, attaching chipset drivers, and all were successful. So, it works! Chipset drivers were the solutuion.
