Does Microsoft contract out online maintainance?
I have been contacted by phone by a company claiming to fix my computers "slowness" by www.onlinesupport.com claiming that my computer sent an error message to Microsoft and that they are contracted to fix it for £70 for ! year and "£150 for 2 years"! Their phone number is 02030266392 and it was "Alex" who spoke to me. Anyone else come across this?1 person got this answerI do too

This is a common and well-known scam. No, Microsoft doesn't ever do this. Hopefully you didn't give them any personal information or pay them. When your system encourage error message and crash a message will come up ask you to send information to Microsoft. These informations only contain technical error andNOT personal information. Therefore Microsoft will NOT know who was the person or PC that cause error and they know that a system encourage error because of some elements and they try to reproduce it and resolve it with update.This call is total fraud and DO NOT response it and pay for it. Microsoft will NEVER call you unless you ask them to do so.I suggest that report this call as fraud to department in charge in your country.Also have a look at :
