Does Defrag (scheduled weekly) close all apps on Windows 7
Does the scheduled defrag (In Control Panel -->Task Scheduler) shutdown all apps and a system restart? I have found that I have been logged off in the morning and all apps closed, even code in the process of running. I'm looking to disable any and all task that will auto log. I have already disable several related to the so-called "Custom Experience Improvement Program". That solved the problem but only for a couple of days.

Hi,What do you mean "That solved the problem"? Do you mean after disabling them, the Defrag won't close all apps nor log off the PC for a few days? Best practices for using defragmentation in Windows 7 are simple – you do not need to do anything! Defragmentation is scheduled to automatically run periodically and in the background with minimal impact to foreground activity. This ensures that data on your hard disk drives is efficiently placed so the system can provide optimal responsiveness. By default, asume you do not turn of the PC, the defragmenter is set to run at 1:00AM every day.At this point, are you sure it is Defrag that close all apps and restart the PC?
