Hi rdhoo, Do you mean to say that ‘My Document’ appears at Start Up or a document file gets executed all by itself once you logged into Windows? With the information that you’ve provided, I would suggest you to try the steps mentioned below. Step 1: Check the behavior in Safe modeTo start the computer in Safe modehttp://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx Step 2: Perform a clean bootIf the document file doesn’t get executed in Safe mode as soon as you login, then perform a clean boot that helps in eliminating software conflicts. Visit the link below to know how to perform a clean boot. How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" statehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Note: Once the troubleshooting is over, reset the computer to start as usual. On the other hand, if ‘My documents’ appear on startup, then follow the steps mentioned in the article below. Do you have a name for this file?Another approach not mentioned in your other reply is to use Autoruns (freeware from Systernal Internal -Microsoft).http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspxPlease note you can Disable a StartUp item to test the effect and remove for a permanent solution. Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell
