we use MIIS for galsync and password sync.

Do we need MIIS service account password to restore SQL2000 DB backup of MIIS server ?

 

Because we lost MIIS service account passoword and , we are afraid of reconfigure service account becaue lack of time and no test environment.

1. Find time and test environment, read help files - it is there

2. You don't necessary need password for this account as long as you have encryption keys exported. If you don't have it, you need service account password to export it.

I could restore SQL2000 DB backup to MIIS test environment without password. No password is requested when restoring DB.

I tried to restore SQLDB backup of production environment MIIS to test MIIS server(test environment), but after SQLDB restore , test MIIS server service could not be started.

What  should I do and encription key of prod environment is need to be in specified file path ?

When I tried to reinstall MIIS, it prompt encryption key and successfully restored to test MIIS environment.
