Do USB Devices' PID (Product ID) and VID (Vendor ID) information get cached somewhere under Windows XP? If yes, is there a limit as how many VID and PID get cached before Windows XP refuses to recognize another USB Device?
Every time you connect a USB Device to your Windows XP system, I would assume Windows XP loads a native driver for that device and cache/store that information about the device somewhere in the system. So, next time you connect the same device, Windows XP would recognize the same device faster and would not take time to load another driver for it, unless it is a different USB Device with a different PID/VID. If these information is cached somewhere in the system, how do I clear out all that PID/VID from the system.2 people need an answerI do too
