Disk Management - Cannot Extend Volume
Hi, can anyone help help me with this? I have a 40 GB hard disk, which has 3 partitions-Windows XP, 5.62 GB free space and windows 7 rc, but i cannot extend the windows 7 partition since the 'Extend Volume' is greyed-out.Thanks, Raymond C

Raymond - Just because you've got 5.62 GB of disk space doesn't mean you can change a partition's size. It depends on WHERE that 5+ GB is located. If you've got files fragmented all over the partition, some bits may be stored toward the end of the drive. You can check to see where the files are located in Windows XP by looking at the disk defragmenter's analysis screen. But before you go thorough this - why not get a bigger hard drive? Hardware is fairly cheap these days. 40 GB at this point is really pushing it for two OS's - XP and Win 7 - both of which can get to be quite huge...
