try booting up your computer with any xp cd. you may have to set the cd drive to be the first boot up device in bios, if your computer is currently booting directly via the hard disk. after the cd loads up, select R at the first screen. this repair option will launch the recovery console and take you to the disk prompt. then at the disk prompt run the following commands>: chkdsk /rfixboot then exit, remove cd and see if windows will load up. incidentally, if you get a error message regarding the master boot record, then run fixmbr at the disk prompt above. -- db`...><)))> ."Sunny Qureshi" wrote in message news:68a4f676-6d1a-4a72-95b3-7b798d5ac520...It is happening from today its the first time am having this kind of problem when i try to run the disk fragment the console launches & after that simply when i press the defragment or analyze button it says cant launch same is the problem with the dick check it is not working it says that a disk check is scheduled after restart but it dont work i've restarted a million time please help me out if someone can thanksdb`...>-)))> `...>-)))> share the nirvana mann

I'll wager it is something like this:Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on this volume: (C:) Please run Chkdsk /f. Do, or do not. There is no try.I decided to save up points for a new puppy instead of a pony!

Hi Sunny Qureshi,Login as an Administrator, try running chkdsk /f (Start -> Run & Type -> chkdsk /f) -> Schedule it, restart the system. Once restart again login as Administrator again and try disk defrag, Should work... Let us know the findings..
