I was trying to use the Disk Defragmenter and I got this message 'Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: Presario (C:). Please run Chkdsk/f. What is Chkdsk and where do I find it? I cannot run it or find it anywhere. I did searchs but came up with nothing.8 people need an answerI do too

I just finished doing a registry cleanup today and now I have the same problem - Have to run chkdsk, but can't run chkdsk. I've rebooted a half dozen times and nothing works. The registry cleanup did appear to improve the load up speed for the computer and in the overall clean up process I did fix a few corrupt files so the computer is working better, just can't run defrag because of this chkdsk conundrum. if anyone has a solution that works, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Was reading this thread because I was having the sane issue described here, want to run defrag, but have to run chkdsk first, computerwon't run chkdsk even though I put the right command prompt in, got the message saying chkdsk would run on reboot, which was a lie. I found a fix that works. go to http://forums.whatthetech.com/How_run_chkdsk_Recovery_Console_t95574.html follow all the instructions and things should actually work as advertised, they did for me.
