Disk Defragmentation
when I hit the analyze key I get an error message that states: Disk Defragmenter has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volumn: Local Disc (c): Please run chkdsk/f. what is this and how can I get rid of it.1 person needs an answerI do too

when I hit the analyze key I get an error message that states: Disk Defragmenter has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volumn: Local Disc (c): Please run chkdsk/f. what is this and how can I get rid of it.Reboot and let chkdsk run to completion to fix any detected disk errors.

Why defrag cares, briefly: If a filesystem (which is like the drive's internal accounting system -- keeping track of what data it's holding and where) is screwed up, the last thing you want it to do is start rearranging things, which is what defragmenting involves. defrag plays it safe and won't run if there's any suggestion that the filesystem's record's might be wrong. chkdsk /f equates to "check disk and fix if necessary".
