DiskPart and ReadOnly flag
Hello everyone, I hope this thread is in the correct forum. I've used Diskpart to set the ReadOnly flag on my external USB drive. The thing is that I've 2 partitions (one FAT32 and one NTFS), and once I set the ReadOnly flag on one of them the other one is set too. In case someone thinks I wrote the command wrong: Attributes Volume Set ReadOnly I've also checked the status of the disk flag and it's no set. Any ideas would be welcome.

Hi, Base on my test, command “diskpart” works well on Windows 7. These steps what I have done: 1 Open CMD 2 Input diskpart and press Enter 3 Select volume=I (Disk I for example) 4 attributes volume set readonly System will notice “Volume attributes set successfully” Then I go to disk I, checked it and found I cannot delete or write in that driver. That mean the readonly has set on disk I. Hope that help you. Everything works perfect, except for the ReadOnly flag. If I set the ReadOnly flag for one partition it sets automatically that flag on every other partition on the same physical disk. I wanted to set one volume as ReadOnly and it sets all of them...

The readonly should set for one partition, other partition should not affected. Please share your steps to use diskpart and set readonly for the partition. Thank you for your cooperation.
