Discuss the function of dlll files
I'd like to find out what dlll files control. My missing file has d followed by 3 l's not two. I know there are web sites that get u to download to fix these files. I don't want to compound by problem but loading a file fixer that I don't know to much about.GOLD

Thx for replying, Leen. When trying to access programs, the message: nspr4.dlll is missing from your computer. I have AVG and Malaware, and both scanned my puter clean. So, I can't find a file to replace this. and I am stuibborn. I refuse to pay for a registry cleaner, just so I can reinstal this missing file. That is where my problem stands.GOLD

Hi Go4thegold, Do not purchase any maintance programs for Windows other than antivirus/antimalware. Windows 7 is self-contained and requires no commercial programs to "fix" registry or file problems. Programs that claim this are of dubious quality, non-functional, or viruses themselves. Fo you run Firefox or Chrome web browsers? I found this thread that may be related to your issues. http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/solved-nspr4-dll-missing-error-message-558196.html If not, does this run every time you open any program? If yes, there may be an issue with a virus trace left behind by your antivirus. I will be able to assist you with that. Thank you, Daniel Wolf My idea of a party is a virtualization server and a room of TechNet DVDs

Thanks Daniel. I try to protect new comp.(4 mos.) by subscr. to Cnet, Howtogeek,Tom's Hardware, Bob Rankin. and Microsoft. All state good idea to run scans and esp. seem to value CCleaner, AVG Adaware, MalAware, etc. So I try a few. Use what free service they have to clean up a bit and then uninstall. Problem,. sometimes these programs grab a dll file with them when they leave. This dll prob. started after I loaded firefox etal, lol, and CCleaner. When I did not use either, I deleted them. DLL problems started. I agree, no extra 'paid' cleaning programs should be needed. or driver update programs. I use free parts of AVG and Malaware now. I am thinking of purchasing both. I want one to have a driver finder. I keep having rotating driver outdated problems. I sholdn't ...system to new. It's my fault for over-cautiously trying to protect computer from viruses and trying to continually clean registry, disks and defreag all the time. I have to investigate just which virus, malware, driver finder service I want. Windows defender does not seem as posh as avg, etc... I think there was some sticky fingers in those cleaners and they grabbed a page or two from my files libraries. I hop I wasn't to long-winded and u read this far. the thread link I followed was where I was before. It had me download another check/find/fix program. Then I had to pay before it wud do anything. I give up. I surrencer. lol Windows, Microsoft, Bill Gates, shoever should have these services free with the cost price of our OS ! Hope to hear from u again. Thank you so much. GOLDGOLD
