What is shown for the FREE space and what is shown for the USED space?Typically, more hard drive space is used by data (photos, music, video, documents) than by programs, except for things like Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office (with everything installed), and similar applications. There are several things that you can delete to gain a little space, but in the end, you'll either have to move much of your data to an external drive or get a larger internal drive.Start by running Disk Cleanup: Start > Run > cleanmgr.exe > OKWhen you get to the screen that shows what can be deleted, delete at least the Recycle Bin, Temporary Files, and Temporary Internet Files. Click the More Options tab and select the button to remove all System Restore points but the most recent one.If you use a browser other than Internet Explorer, please identify it for directions on how to delete its "temporary internet files" (because Disk Cleanup doesn't know about other browsers). There are various other things to delete, but if at this point you have at least 3 MB of available disk space, download JDiskReport:http://www.jgoodies.com/freeware/jdiskreport/index.html When you run this application, you will see what is taking up space on your hard drive ... and that will give you a better idea of what you might want to delete.
