Why is it that my DVD drive disappears after a minute when my computer starts.

futbolgrg - Probably because the drive itself is empty... There's a setting that controls that in the Folder Options that controls this:1.) Open Windows Explorer 2.) Press ALT to open the menus - Click Tools | Folder Options3.) Click the View tab4.) Look for the item that reads "Hide empty drives in the Computer folder" and UNCHECK it.5.) Click OK and restart Windows ExplorerYou should see your DVD drive on the list.
