Disabling Network Media Sense using VISTA
Can anyone tell me how to disable the Network card Media Sense. I have done the regedit with XP which worked fine but the same DisableDHCPMediaSense key entry appears not to work under Windows Vista business.

Hi,
Please try to disable Media Sense in this way:
We can change the TCP/IP configurations with NetShell utility. NetShell utility (netsh) is a command-line scripting interface for the configuring and monitoring of Windows XP, 2003 and Vista networking service.
To disable Media Sense, please perform the following steps:
1) Click on the Start button.
2) Type cmd in the search bar.
3) Right click on the cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator.
4) Run the following commands one by one:
netsh interface ipv4 set global dhcpmediasense=disabled
netsh interface ipv6 set global dhcpmediasense=disabled
5) After finishing the commands above, please run the following commands to check the results:
netsh interface ipv4 show global
netsh interface ipv6 show global
Please check if the entry DHCP Media Sense shows disabled or not. If it is disabled, it means the operations are successful.
However, please also note, the Media Sense depends on the NIC; if the NIC didnt support the Media Sense, the configurations wont take effect, either. Therefore, please also check the issue with the technical support of your NIC.

Hello
I eventually proceeded as mentioned. I disabled all DHCP media sense on computer A's NIC,
then I updated Intel's driver.
I found a way to reproduce the case : just unplug/replug the network wire : desktop icons
disappear and never reappear ! when I hit F5 on the desktop, windows says I'm not allowed
to access my redirected desktop..
So it seems we've not found the solution yet.. I'm really desperate !
Thanks for your time and help
