Disabled Wireless Access?
Don't ask me how I did it, but at some point, I must have disabled my wireless access. My signal icon is dark with an 'X' through it, and it will not search for any networks (I've tried in multiple locations). I've troubleshooted in vain, restored my system in vain, done everything in vain. What else can I do?

Is this a laptop? Does it have a hardware switch for the wireless, maybe on the front or side? Is the switch turned on?

Sorry, it is a laptop. There is no external switch. I somehow mistakingly did it by right clicking on something (I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT!!!!! AGH!) and disabling it. Now I can't find anything to enable.

There's always a switch, although some models use a function-key combo instead of a discrete switch (fn+something). Regardless, if you did it by right-clicking then it can only be in one of two places - you either disabled the wireless adapter in Device Manager, or you disabled the connection Network Connections. I doubt if you disabled the adapter itself, or it wouldn't even show up in the System Tray; more likely you just disabled the connection. Go to Control Panel->Network and Internet->Network Connections and check. To check the adapter itself go to the Start Orb, right-click on Computer and select Properties. On the left side of the Properties windows select Device Manager.
