Disable certificate authentication with remote Android clients

Hello all,

Our remote Android clients are able to sign into Lync2013 only after installing the root certificate. I would like to know if we can disable the certificate requirement for remote users and just require sign-in address and password. I'm using Lync2013 standard edition and Win2012 server. I followed Matt Landis' step by step tutorial.

Kind regards,

Hi,

The root certificate still needed for mobile client to login successfully. When Lync user sign in initially, you need to enter the username and password. At this time, Certificate Authentication is used. Then in the subsequent sign in process, you can only need to input the username to sign in. At this time, Passive Authentication is used. If the Lync or mobile device is restarted, you need to enter the username and password as the AD credentials are only stored as a long as the current Lync application session is running.
