Disable auto reconnect network drive on boot
Every time I boot Windows 7 now, I get a popup saying Windows 7 was unable to auto reconnect network drives . In XP I could disable this: Control Panel Folder Options View Uncheck "Automatically search for network folders and printers" How do I disable this in Windows 7?Rich

Hi,
The option in Windows XP is removed in the new system. Regarding the startup error message, I suggest you perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.
1. Disconnect the mapped drive and reconnect it.
2. Perform a Clean Boot to check the result. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
If the error message persists, please upload it.
Thanks,
Novak

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I did not receive a notification of your post or I would have responded sooner (I do have the box checked). I don't specifically map the drives in question. I use unc names to access them for backup and file sync purposes via SyncToy. I did not get this message until recently. I could run a batch file at shutdown that would disconnect the drives but the real question is, why is it not successful reconnecting to the drives which are always available as they reside on my XP Pro Webserver which runs 24x7. I'll capture a screen shot of the error the next time I boot and post it here. Wonder if there is any useful info in Event Viewer. Will check and poist that data here as well. Thanks again.Rich

Did a clean boot and no error message. Did a normal boot and no error message. Checked and the two mapped drivers are there and accessed. Strange. I'll keep an eye in it and if it happens again I'll capture the error message popup window and post it here.Rich
