Disable Lync connectivity to GTalk

Hi, we are using Lync internally at work. However, suddenly I believe since we upgraded to Lync 2013, Lync is automatically sending requests to my gmail/gtalk contacts. This is being done, WITHOUT my consent, it is persistent, and it is annoying my Gmail contacts, and I don't even want to be able to use Gtalk on my Lync account.

Is there some way to disable this integration at client level?

Hi,

It might your Lync server is configured XMPP to Federate Google talk.

You cannot disable at the client side this can be done through the Lync server side...

If you want to disable the federation with XMPP partner, you cant disable that at client level.

You need to disable that in Lync Control Panel.

But Lync shouldnt send the request to Gmail/Gtalk contacts automatically. Please check if the issue with others. Check if your Lync client also sent the requests to other Gmail/Gtalk contacts.

Hi,

Let me give you some background that will give you some understanding what is exactly going on your case.

XMPP Proxy - This is a New Feature in Lync Server 2013 built-in EDGE Server role.
Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP)   Lync Server 2013 introduces a fully integrated XMPP proxy (deployed on the Edge Servers) and an XMPP gateway deployed on your Front End Servers. You can deploy XMPP federation as an optional component. Adding and configuring the XMPP proxy and XMPP gateway will allow your Microsoft Lync 2013 users to add contacts from XMPP-based partners for instant messaging (IM) and presence.

Note: Gmail uses XMPP Protocol to communicate with Lync 2013 Server

Your Scenario : You might have enabled the XMPP Proxy and installed it as a Default Install of the EDGE Server role.

You can achive this by using GUI or powershell,GUI option is already provided, hence i am providing the powershell option

Get-CsXmppAllowedPartner - Returns information about XMPP partners authorized to communicate with your organization.

Remove-CsXmppAllowedPartner - Removes an existing XMPP allowed partner

Well, the feature is required at company level...however, I'd like to NOT have Gtalk enabled at my client level. Isn't there something I can do?
