Disable Charms

Is there a way to completely disable Charms bar using registary edits or group policies?

So far I have tried adding a Key called EdgeUI to the following registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>ImmersiveShell

I then created a new DWORD and called it DisableCharmsHint and set its value to 1. Basically followed the following technote but, still I can access Charms Bar, how annoying. If there is anyway to remove the Charms, please let me know.

Hi,

After adding the key, have you reboot your system?

In addition, please also go through the link below for some other ways to disable charms bar:

Hope this helps.

Hi

Yes I tried disabling Charms via Taskbar & re booted several times but I can still the Charms bar. I didn't try the freebie program yet as I believe there should be a native way to kill charms bar. If you or anyone else have any other ideas, please let me know.

Hi,

Whether the Charm bar display when you point to the upper-right corner?

It seems that the Charm bar cannot be disabled totally. I tested it, when I point to the corner, the Charms bar does not display, but it will display when you move down your mouse at the corner.

Hi

It is very disappointing to hear that Charms bar cannot be disabled. I thought there would be a way. Is it possible to modify what is displayed in the charms bar? If yes, I want to delete everything out of it. The charms is probably the most annoying thing MS added to Win8.1.
