Directory Problem
Hi all,
we have a computer where we see the harddisk partition c:\ several times when we open the explorer. Someone a sollution?
It look likes:
Partition_1(c:)
documents and settings
email
windows
Partition_1(c:) document and setting
email
windows
Partition_1(c:)
here we find again the same structure as a subdir, and again and again
hope you understand
thx Georges

Are the child Partition_1(c:) entries perhaps shortcuts to the root?
If you boot into
safe mode or with a clean boot, do you notice this?
Have you run chkdsk on the drive?

I assume it are shortcuts, my college deleted one of these subs and the computer didn't start after rebooting. Missing "NTLDR" and "NTDETECT.COM"; this problem is solved. So for sure it are shortcuts to the child partition.
We will verify the "safe mode" status and do a chkdsk and a clean boot.
thx

In a directory listing at the command prompt, what do the child "Partition_1(c:)" items appear as? Does Sysinternals Junction list them as some sort of junction point?

Yes it is a junction point ("koppeling" in Dutch)and when we access it we see an other one and so on and so on...

Any idea how the jps were created? Consider backing up the system, and then using junction to remove one. See if that or has any effect.
