Directing Windows 7 Deployment to a Specific Server
I'm trying to set up our deployment environment over multiple sites. I have a couple of ideas about how to do this, but need some input from you folks, please! We have two sites (different US cities) where we need to test/configure our deployment setup. We will be expanding this to more cities inside the US. The biggest question is how do we point the new computer to a specific deployment share so we have the fastest transfer rate? Should we use a single DFS share or just replicate the data to each site? How does the CD we boot from know which deployment share to connect to? Thanks everyone!

Hi, Before going further, would you please let me know what software is used to deploy? What program or files he is trying to deploy? Is Windows 7 already installed? Here is an example with MDT, you can refer to the following link: http://e-articles.info/e/a/title/Creating-and-Configuring-a-Deployment-Share/ Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. Also, you can contact MDT forum to get more suggestions on deployment share. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/mdt/threads Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
