DirectAccess and VMWare virtual adapters
I have a functional DirectAccess setup. Windows 7 laptops are able to successfully connect to the corporate network anywhere in the world when they have an internet connection. Great so far! Some of the users also install VMware Workstation or VMware player on their laptops and at that point DirectAccess functionality breaks.I believe this is caused by the VMware virtual network adapters. When the laptops is started and theseadapters are enabled the DirectAccess tunnel does not come up. At the same time you'll see in the "Network and sharing center" that windows tries to indentify the VMware network. When the VMware virtual network adapters are disabled the DirectAccess tunnel comes up shortly thereafter and I can successfully access the corporate network again.Has someone ran into the same issue and found a solution or workaround other then disabling the VMware adapters?Thx,Bas

Hi, Thank you for posting here. Considering this issue is related to VMware virtual network adapters, since we have limited resources about VMware, it is recommended that you contact VMware for help since they should be more familiar with their products. I have seen the same behavior. The vmware adapters hang "identifying". The tunnel won't come up until they identify the network or until the vmware adapters are disabled. I recently upgraded to vmware workstation 7.1.3 and my tunnel has stopped working. None of the protocols will connect. I don't see this as a vmware problem. I can hear them now if I opened a call saying my DirectAccess client stopped working. Tim
