Devices and Printers folder is empty in Windows 7
Hi, I have a laptop with Windows 7 OS, When i add a new printer its not been showing in the Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers folder. But, when i open any document to print i can see the list of printers available there. My laptop has finger print sensor and blue-tooth both are not been visible in my Devices and printers folder. Please let me know if any settings i need to make to see those. Thx, Harsha

Hi Harsha, If there is nothing in the Devices and Printers Windows Explorer, your issue can be caused by the corrupted IE8 dll files. You can try to import the this registry to fix your issue. In addition, you can refer to this thread. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itproinstall/thread/cc31cf75-99f1-48e3-af2f-f628f9907c7a Good luck! John

I did the registry fix and it didn't fix my problem. It takes forever for the devices & printers folder to show up and when it does, it's blank. Also, when I click on "Safely Eject Hardware", that too, is blank. At the very least I should see my USB thumb drive.
