Device manager snap-in gone
HI, My Windows 7 Pro stopped showing the "device manager" console in the "Computer > Manage" MMC console. The other consoles are shown without problems (Event viewer, Task scheduler, etc.) . If I start it using "Start > Run... devmgmtn.msc" it lunches without issues, which means it is not blocked in the local policies. SP1 installed but the issue persists. Any ideas?

Hi Sandor, Run the REG file #8 in this link: Miscellaneous Registry Fixes for Windows 7/XP/Vista - The Winhelponline Blog Download the REG file #8 and save to Desktop. (You can view the contents of the file using Notepad if you need.) Double-click the REG file to merge the contents... that'll restore the missing Device Manager Snap-in.
