Desktop won't load (only shows blank blue screen), but can access task manager
Hi- my computer has been very buggy in the past two weeks or so. For example, websites have been re-directing to shopping pages/search engines. I've ran a lot of virus checks and malware checks but there hasn't been a problem apparently. For the past few days I've been trying to log into my account but it either stays on "Loading personal settings" for ages or just loads a blank screen. I can access task manager, which is how I got on the internet (I went to file > new task > google.com). Is there a way I can fix this problem and have my computer act normally again, without having to totally re-start and lose all my files? THANK YOU in advance, this is very frustrating.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi KelseyIsRad,· Which browser you are using?· Did you make any software or hardware changes on your machine prior to this issue?Let’s follow these steps & check if the issue persists.Step 1You may try to perform system restore from Task Manager.System restore will restore back the computer to the point when it was working fine.In Task Manager, under File > New Task, type the command ‘rstrui.exe’, click OK.Note:When you perform System Restore to restore the computer to previous state, programs and updates you installed are removed. For more information, refer this link: How to restore Windows XP to a previous stateStep 2If you are using Internet Explorer, after completion of Step 1, you may follow this link & check if the issue persists. How to restore a hijacked web browserRefer: What is browser hijacking?Hope the information helps.
