Desktop slideshow
Desktop slideshow stops working occasionally. I am using my own folder with my pics in it. Sometimes I get a black screen and I have to change themes then change back. Other times all of the pictures get unchecked and its just a matter of selecting all and it starts working again. I thought this was related to the windows update trouble but it still does it after the registry mod to make updates work. If I use pictures that came with 7 it seems to keep on working. Do the pictures have to be a certain size or extension? Mine are all .jpg but are varied in size.

I just got home and had a black screen. Checking the slide show config, all the pictures show up but only one is checked. Clicking select all put a check mark in all of them but still a black screen. changing to an included slide show and then back again makes it work.

I have found no duplicating reason for this black desktop. No matter what pictures I use they all go away. Sometimes I have to log out and back in to get it working again. When I click logout the picture will flash on the desktop momentarily. This is most annoying!! All my icons are there as well as gadgets, its just a black background..... Anyone?

You are not alone. I have this problem periodically. The slide show will stop on a picture (MS provided) or go blank.Checking the personalization options the configuration will have changed to the single picture and my screensaver is reset as well.It first happened when I downloaded the Hana Highway Theme and it would not replace my favorite Buffalo in the United States Theme. Now, as long as I stay with the US theme it has been fairly stable for a few days.
