Desktop Shorcut Permission with Size limit

Hi,
Do anyone know how to permit users on creating desktop shortcuts for 20 MB size limit in total?
I cannot see anything from GPO and I think this can be done in scripting but I'm just a newbie.
Thanks for the help..

I don't think I understand your question. A shortcut by nature is no larger than a couple KB regardless of target file size. Unless you are looking to limit the aggregate file size of all shortcuts combined.

Hi,

Base on my research, there is no such a GPO to limit the Desktop folder size. Regarding the Size limit issue, we can only use Quota to limit the disk usage.

Thanks for your reply guys...but If we have a folder redirection, particularly desktop folder for example, can we use the FSRM (File Server Resource Manager) tool to limit a folder size?

Hi,

I would like to explain that the FSRM also use Quota to limit the folder size on the server. You can refer to the article in my previous post to use Quota to test the issue.

In addition, this issue is related with Windows Server settings, I suggest you can to contact Server Forum for further help:
