Desktop Issues, Please Help!
I have just tried to add a new folder to my desktop but when I try to Rename it or delete it I get an error: Could not find this item This is no longer located in ... Please verify the location and try again. The same thing happens when I try to delete a file I just put on the Desktop, and I can still see it there! I can't see the new folders I have made on the desktop, but they show up when I go into the Libraries and under Desktop and Desktop(2). This whole thing is rather annoying and I'm not sure how to even start fixing it. Thanks, Aubrey

Hi, According to your description, I suggest to perform these steps to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Logon with Safe Mode and delete this folder 2 Use command to delete or rename this folder 3 Use CHKDSK on CMD to check the disk. Once the checkdisk utility is done, delete the folder 4 create a new folder on your desktop don’t name it then drag and drop it onto the file that won’t delete now you should be able to delete it Hope that helps. Hello agalusha, You could try to click open space on your desktop and press [F5]. If that doesn't work, try: - rebooting Windows while pressing and holding [F8], which will bring you in the Windows Advanced Options Menu - use the arrow-keys to navigate to the option "Safe Mode" and press [ENTER] - once Windows has started in Safe Mode, try deleting the file again I hope this information has helped you. With kind regards, Laurenz
