Desktop Gadgets Problem on windows 7
Hi there, My desktop gadgets only show up as small white boxes (or not at all) when i add them to the desktop. I have UAC on its highest setting (always notify). I can right click on the desktop and view my gadgets, but nothing past here. I have not re installed or tinkered with windows. My desktop icons are set to "show" My desktop gadgets are set to "show" In turn on or off windows features, gadgets has a check. Can anyone please help? i could take screen shot of what my gadgets look like but pretty much they are just a tiny white box that when i click on give me the option of closing with the cross in the corner. please help =)

Hi, Please try the following options: 1. Turn off UAC to test. 1) Click the Start Button, type "User account control" and press Enter. 2) When the User account control settings box appears, move the slider to Never notify. 3) Click OK. 2. Run sfc /scannow to automatically fix the corrupted system file. 3. Create a new profile and test if the issue occurs. If not, this can be caused by corrupted user profile, you may need to fix the corrupted user profile.
