Dell 2350 DN shared networked printer error on Windows 7 64 when trying to add
I disabled the point and print restrictions in the local policy for both the user config and computer config but still have the same problem. This issue is effecting only one machine. I have 15 other Dell Optiplex 980s with the same desktop image configured exactly the same that are working fine. What is the process to submit the logs to SKYDRIVE?.Greg A. Starstrom

I have Multiple Dell 2350 DN printers installed as shared printers on a 2008 R2 SP1 server working without issues. All my machines are Dell Optiplex 980's running Windows 7 64 Bit SP1. I am creating a new user profile on an existing machine that was previously used by another user and had the shared printers installed and working. When I try to add the shared Dell 2350DN to the new user profile on the workstation I get (Windows cannot connect to the printer. Unable to find a core driver package that is required by the printer driver package. Here is a text version of the event log. I have insured the latest 64 bit driver is installed on the Server. I am able to install other dell printers but get the error whenever I try to add the Dell 2850 DN Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-PrintService/Admin Source: Microsoft-Windows-PrintService Date: 8/8/2012 10:27:51 AM Event ID: 215 Task Category: Installing a printer driver Level: Error Keywords: Printer Setup,Printer User: AD\Administrator Computer: glevtov-W7.ad.aetea.loc Description: Installing printer driver Dell 2350dn Laser Printer failed, error code 0x0, HRESULT 0x80070bc8. Hi, The event 215 may be logged due to the Printe and Point restriction. Please configure the Point and Print Restrictions policy to Disabled. Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Printers User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Control Panel / Printers Also, you may upload the logs in %windir%\inf to Skydrive for further troubleshooting if the issue persists. I gave up and re-imaged the Win7 /64 machine back to its default. It was the only one out of 60 that would not load the driver when added from available printers on the server. the Dell 2350DN is the default unit at all my branch locations. 90% of my printers are 2350DNs and all the desktops have the same image that is locked down by me. Ran out of time and patience and needed a quick solution. Greg A. Starstrom
