Deleting problems
Is anyone else having problems with removing data from win 7 be itvideo file or text files

no error message. just never finishes the task. you cant even close the deleting application and restart it you need to reboot the system.

Do you know is the drive or folder read only?

read only i think never had any probs like this with vista.

You might want to uncheck that box then, as it might be causing at least some of the problem.

i was having a similar problem and i think i have solved it by changing the permissions and ownership of drive c to my user name

Yes! I am, actually... I'll try to delete something and it will appear to do so, but a quick F5 refresh of the window reveals it didn't go anywhere. Eventually, the file disappears. It appears to be an issue with search indexing, although I don't have any quick way of resolving it.

I have a similar problem, and I have discovered it is directly related to changing Folder Options to enable viewing hidden files. In this mode, for some reason, recently deleted files are included in the "hidden" category until I manually refresh
the window.
