Deleting a Scheduled Task
I am having problems deleting a specific scheduled task. When opening the Task Scheduler I receive the following error: "An error has occured for the task UpdateCheck_S-1-5-21-1963513347-1135822752-4085221355-1001. Error message: The specified account name is not valid." SCHTASKS /QUERY shows that this task is under the \Games folder, but it does not appear under that in the Task Scheduler. SCHTASKS /DELETE /TN "UpdateCheck_S-1-5-21-1963513347-1135822752-4085221355-1001" gives the following error: "ERROR: The specified task name "UpdateCheck_S-1-5-21-1963513347-1135822752-4085221355-1001" does not exist in the system. I believe this issue is a result of using the WMIC command to rename the user account on the computer but I don't know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, To work around this problem, use either of the following workarounds: · Rename the user account back to the original user name by using the User Accounts tool in Control Panel. · Delete the user account from the User Accounts tool in Control Panel, and then create a new user account with the appropriate user name.
