I have the Policy that deletes the user profiles older than a specified number of days enabled and it does delete the profiles sort of. When reviewing the user profiles I notice that the profile is still there with the appdata folder within. If the same user logs in again, a new profile with either the domain name at the end is displayed or a .00 then .01 Is this a known thing? After reviewing the event log I get that certain profiles were not able to be deleted because it might have been in use, but I have it to delete within x amount of days of users not logging on. Plus these systems are restarted and switch user accounts are disabled. I have no problems if I delete the profiles under System Properties -> Advanced -> User Profiles This is not hurting my overall windows environment, but would like to know if its a known bug or if theres anything I could do to clean it up (aside from deleting them manually).

I remember one application that take ownership of specific file. I guess that this phenomenon may be your case too. Analyze the ownership in appdata and address the forum and/or support of application software that you use. Alternative way is audit. Regards Milos PS: Usually the "trouble bringing file" is very small and does not count too much to profile size, at least it was in my case.

Thanks Milos, Yea, for the most part I have no problem with the it, but instead wanted to see if others had been experiencing it the same situation. As for the AppData ownership - i'll have to dig around... because even though I have the view settings to display both hidden and system file views, nothing really is inside the AppData folder.
