Deleted folder still reappears in Win 7
In Win 7, I have a folder. Let's call this folder F1.
I gave full control NTFS permission to myself for F1.
I tried to delete F1. F1 still reappeared.
Suppose I tried to log off and log on again and then I tried to delete F1, it still reappeared.
How to permanantly delete F1?
Thanks.

Take the ownership of the desired folder which you would like to delete and then try.
Take Ownership of a File or Folder

you might also want to use a freeware utility "Unlocker" which can also help you delete locked files/folders.

I've seen this happen a few times caused by AV, in which case a reboot fixed the issue. If you could provide the actual name of the folder, we might be able to tell you what program is holding onto it.

Sorry that I can't provide the actual name of the folder because this issue is not mine.
Someone else asked me about this issue.
Anyway, thanks for all your kind help.

You can try to delete file by holding Shift+Delete
If that doesn't work you can try to delete the file Like this.
Use the CD command (Change Directory) to navigate to the folder the file is in.
cd c:\some\folder
Then use the DEL command (DELete) to delete the file.
del file.txt
Or you can just do it with DEL using the full path.
del c:\some\folder\file.txt
Also if youu need to delete a folder try to delete like this
Go to Command Prompt
And type in to your location
RD /S /Q "Full Path of Folder"
So if would be like this RD /S /Q "C:\Users\UserName*\Desktop\Folder"
And the should be it.
Note that if you are using windows Vista or 7 you may need to right click on Command Prompt And Select Run As Administrator for it to work.
Also if there is no way you can run a Linux base operating system and just delete it from there.

This issue occurs to only one folder.
Similar to Alex Zhaozx, I think this is the possible solution: some program may have a reference to this folder.
Suppose this folder is deleted. If this program runs again, it will try to recreate the folder.
So you don't need to reply to this thread. This is solved. Thanks. :)

Hi,
Dose this issue occur to every folder?
Is this folder created by any program? Based on my experience,
if a folder is created by a software, when it is deleted, the software would recreate it for its own purpose.Alex Zhao
