In Microsoft Express, I can't delete messages. I get an error message saying there's a problem & Microsoft Express needs to close.I also can't open my Deleted Items folder: same thing happens. I've tried clicking & dragging messages to theDeleted Items folder: same thing.Making a new Deletefolder, transferring items to it and deleting it offline: that worked. Then I took the suggestion of compacting everything: it won't let me do it. I get the same message & it shuts me down.

Your message store is likely corrupt. Go to File | Identities and set up a new Identity. Then add your accounts and see if everything works okay in that Identity.
