Sir, I too have that problem. Later, I found a way to tackle this problem. Please do this to install that update, Disable any antivirus and antispyware softwares, Disable even your firewall and disable any software that controls systam activity and try to update it, Its get updated for me. All the best.

Spyware Doctor is the problem. Just disable OnGuard fot 15 minutes, and it will install.

Thank you very much for this posting. I, too, was having trouble installing this update. Although I wasn't getting any error message, it just would say downloaded and would try to install upon shutting down of my p.c. I tried every thing imaginable. Then I read this posting and did what you said, disabled my anti-virus program and firewall (and I turned off Windows Defender) and downloaded and installed it again, and this time it worked. I appreciate your help in this matter. I also changed the "Windows Update" option to download automatically, but let me pick a time to install. That way I can control which programs I want, or don't want. I hate IE and IE 7 is the worst, so I disabled that. IE 6 works just fine and without all the drama and error messages. Richard L Braun
