The problem is that, the "Default Gateway" gets cleared everytime I restart my laptop eventhough the interent cable from the modem is connected to the laptop. It is happening like this from past 3 weeks and there are no major changes I made to the laptop. Please help. regards, Vijay B RVijay Birur

Hi, This issue can be caused by third party programs, for example, Adobe AC3 program: Windows 7 - Two default gateway 0.0.0.0 We also encountered that some security programs causes this issue. Another situation is hardware confliction. Please open cmd, enter the following command. route print Please check if the following entry exists on the top of your routing table. 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ON-LINK * If so, please enter the command below to remove this route. route delete p 0.0.0.0 ON-LINK Please check the result. If it works please restart. However if the issue reoccurs after reboot, please check the route table again. If the invalid route appears again, please delete it with the above command, and then select to boot in Clean Boot Mode. 1. Click the Start Button type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter. Note: If prompted, please click Continue on the User Account Control (UAC) window.2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". Then, restart the computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK. Please test this issue in the Clean Boot environment, if the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.Arthur Xie - MSFT
