Dart 7.0 Beta - Accessing certain based on user account
I have replaced the winre.wim file in the c:\recovery\{GUID} folder with a Dart wim file. So now hitting F8 and choosing Repair your computer has the dart tools available. When booting to this recovery environment it asks if you want to enable network in the background then it brings you to the next windows which is select the user and enter the password. What would be nice is to be able to have the Administrator account have access to all the tools, including locksmith and all other users only have access to tools we specify. Also when remotely connecting to a computer, which will be an IT Admin or Helpdesk, it would be nice if they can logon again after the user has given them access to their computer so all tools are available when the remote session starts. I have also emailed this to dart7feedback@microsoft.com.

Hi, I’m afraid that’s impossible and your expectation cannot be realized. If users have administrative privilege of the Windows 7 system prior to booting into the system, anyone can change user password. Anyway, thank you for your suggestion and efforts, since you also post it to dart7feedback@microsoft.com, if you receive any feedback from that, please feel free to let me know. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Regards, Leo Huang TechNet Subscriber Support in forum.
