DRIVER_VIOLATION
I'm getting the same error on an Intelbras notebook.
I did a clean installation of Windows 8 trying to upgrade to 8.1 through store app and a try to directly install Windows 8.1 on a empty HD. Both failed with same error: DRIVER_VIOLATION

Hi
This error don't generates any dump file in Minidump folder.
Perhaps because, at the time of the crash, the system had not even started, I don't know.
However, here are the installation log files that you asked for:

Thanks for help.

Hi
By analyzing the error log, operating system did not have correct privileges to perform the upgrade.
Did your computer join the domain?
If your computer joined the domain,we suggested you to remove the machine from Domain and move it to a workgroup
Did you have multi-bootable partitions? If yes, mark your Windows partition as "Active".
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mark-partition-active#1TC=windows-7
If the issue persists,Run CMD as Administrator, type following command
Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth
Also, find the following location, and update the ownership of this directory to the Administrators group and granted Administrators Full Control to the directory.
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
Hope this helps.

Hello
No, my computer is not joined on any domain.
It is on the windows default workgroup.
No, I have no multi-bootable partition. It is just the Windows 8 partiton and another storage partition with no other operating system.
I started an elevated Windows PowerShell and ran the command.
"Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth"
There are no errors or corruptions on the Windows Image.
Updated the ownership and granted access as "Full Control" to the Administrator Group to the directory C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys.
I'm using a local account with administrator privileges.
Nothing done. The error still the same.
Another ideia?
Thank you so much.

Can you check the following folder for a setupmem.dmp:
C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Rollback
If found can you provide the setupmem.dmp via Windows Live SkyDrive.

Sorry, I can't find the setupmem.dmp file.
This file doesn't exist anywhere in my computer.
There is anything else that I can do?

Can you provide the following info on the computer?
Windows key + S > type msinfo32.exe and press "Enter" > File > Save > then save as an .nfo file
Then make the resulting .nfo file available via Windows Live SkyDrive.
Also, can you do the following?:
Windows key + S > type eventvwr.exe and press "Enter" > expand "Custom Views" and then right-click "Administrative Events" > select "Save all events in Custom View As"
and save as an .evtx file
Then make the resulting .evtx file available via Windows Live SkyDrive
I have a feeling you may have an Asus computer and hopefully those files may give an indication of potential problems.

Looking at the hardware involved I did not see anything obvious that would cause the installation of Windows 8.1 to fail.
Can you point me to the support page for the computer which appears to be a PEGA H34 notebook?
February 17th, 2014 10:46am
I don't know about "PEGA H34".
I'm from Brazil, and my computer is an Intelbras notebook model i650.
Here are the support page:

I don't know if this information will help, but I tried to update all my drivers in Windows 8 before upgrade to 8.1 and I get a BSOD when trying to update the audio driver.
Maybe the audio device the cause of the problem?
February 17th, 2014 11:10am
Ii is possible the audio device may be at issue.
When you tried to directly install Windows 8.1 did you do a "clean install" by rebooting the installation media (rather than launching the installation media from within Windows) as described in the following link:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-8/clean-install
To install this way you would need a Windows 8.1 product key as a Windows 8 product key would not work in this situation.

Yes, I TRIED to do a clean installation.
I formated the disk before, and tried to install Windows 8.1 by an installation media (a DVD).
However, my notebook is unable to launch the Windows installation setup.
It stucks before the "Install Windows" page in step 3, as described at the link page.
When the Windows logo appears, about two seconds later I get the same error "DRIVER_VIOLATION" in a blue screen, then, the system restarts.

One thing you could try is to disable any hardware you can in the BIOS if possible.
That would include the audio device and onboard LAN.
Then try the install again.
February 19th, 2014 9:43pm
My BIOS setup does not give me options to disable hardware devices.
I do not know how to do this.
February 24th, 2014 10:37am
I had already done it before.
The
Upgrade Assistant says that 23 of my applications and devices are compatible. Didn't list anything as incompatible. You can check here (in portuguese):
http://1drv.ms/1mCVxxy
February 26th, 2014 5:44pm
The issue appears to be a driver that is trying to be loaded during the installation.
Since all of the devices check out OK with the Upgrade Assistant what I might suggest, in Windows 8, is to make sure all device drivers are updated using the drivers available from the manufacturer of the device.
For instance obtain the Intel graphics driver from Intel. Once all the drivers are updated try the Windows 8.1 upgrade again.
February 28th, 2014 12:35pm
I have tried to do that too.
Checked all devices drivers one by one with windows update, then manually and also with some third-part applications with this purpose.
I assured that all drivers are up-to-date, except the audio driver, like I said some posts above: When I tried to update this driver to the newest version, I get a BSOD with the error message: "APC_INDEX_MISMATCH(portcls.sys)" followed by a reboot.
Here is the minidump file that the crash generated:
