DRIVER_VIOLATION

I'm getting the same error on an Intelbras notebook.

I did a clean installation of Windows 8 trying to upgrade to 8.1 through store app and a try to directly install Windows 8.1 on a empty HD. Both failed with same error: DRIVER_VIOLATION

So where are you now?  What OS is on the machine?  Are you able to boot?  What OS do you want to be the final result?   Anything you can tell us will help.

Team Zigzag

I'm running Windows 8 without any problems. I want to upgrade to Windows 8.1 through Windows Store App.

The process normally flows until the time of restart, when I got the BSOD with this words:

" :(  Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you. (0% complete)
If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: DRIVER_VIOLATION "

And the system restarts with old version (Windows 8) with a message:

"Unable to upgrade to Windows 8.1
Unable to complete the upgrade to Windows 8.1. We restored your previous version of Windows on this PC.
Error code: 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 "

And this also happens when I try to install Windows using a Windows 8.1 media. On the media boot, I get this error.

Hi,

First, upload the Dump file so that we can help you analyze the issue.

The Dump file path:

C:\Windows\Minidump

Also, upload your installation log file to SkyDrive, and post the link here. I will check these files to find what caused your problem.
Find two hidden folders:

C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\Panther
C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\Rollback
