DNS server not responding!
Hi, For about a week now i have been unable to connect to the internet. We have a WLAN set-up with 2 laptops, a desktop, a wireless extender, 3 iphones and an ipad. All devices are able to connect to the WLAN (Netgear router) no problem but none of them can connect to the internet (Belkin Modem). When i troubleshoot the problem i get a 'DNS server not responding' error message. We just had a technician from our Internet service provider come round and he was able to connect to the internet with his modem. I have since then connected my laptop directly to two separate modems (Netgear and Belkin) on separate occasions and both times i received the same error message. I get the same error again when i repeat the previous step with my dads laptop. Could someone please help... Thanks :)

Hello, in IP addressing settings of your computer, set 4.2.2.2 or your ISP DNS server as primary DNS server. Once done, try again. If this does not help, post the output of ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt command. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. On XP, I had to delete a registry key (don't know how it got there): hkey_local_machine/software/policies/microsoft/windows NT/DNSClient Then DNS started working fine.
