DNS server isn't responding (only on windows side!)
Hello and sorry if this was answered elsewhere... I have windows 64x and ubuntu (i forget version) installed and the windows side shows connection, but always gives me the same DNS server report or says something is wrong with my adapter. I am near retarded so I have no clue what this actually means. All I know is that on the ubuntu side I have zero issues browsing. This is a real pain as I am not skilled enough to make many of my desired programs (which require internet) run on ubuntu. Any suggestions? Oh....I have tried setting the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and countless others to no avail.

Hi, May I know if you used any router? If so, please bypass it for a test. Meanwhile, I suggest updating the latest network adapter driver from manufacturer's website and trying the following suggestions. 1. Check hosts file. 2. Run command "ipconfig /dnsflush" in the elevated command prompt. 3. Disable security software and firewall temporarily for a test.Niki Han TechNet Community Support
