DNS not working internal, all other machines are.

I have a Windows 8.1 Professional tablet by ASUS that cannot resolve anything through DNS inside of our network. All other devices (including other tablets going through the same wireless access point) are able to resolve everything just fine. We did just have an issue with a switch going out last week (not attached to WAP), but everything else seems to be working just fine now. On my device, I also have no issue pinging the Internet and going through IE 11 to go to different internet sites on the same wireless connection. I can also ping anything inside our network by IP. Also, I just updated my domain password, and the device has it as the password now for my account.

Here is what I've tried thus far:

Release and renew DHCP connection = Nothing

Give static IP that I know wasn't duplicate and manually enter in numbers for DNS = Nothing

Flush DNS = Nothing

Restart Machine = Nothing

Restart Wireless Network Device = Nothing

Any suggestions would be helpful.

One more thing, I un-joined the machine from the Domain and re-joined = Nothing

Are you using IPv6? Is it enabled? If you're not using it, try disabling it.

Ok..

Try resetting the TCP/IP stack by opening an elevated command prompt and typing

Netsh wlan delete profile name = "ProfileName"

Then type

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Press enter and reboot.

Still not working. I did notice though that my firewall says that I'm connected to a public/guest network. I looked at another tablet on the same wireless and it says it is connected to a domain. I checked and my computer is a member of the domain. Both DHCP and ADUC show me as being a member and active.

Hi,

Could you logon as a domain user account on this machine properly? By default (without any extra network policy) your Internal DNS should response every query from client (even non-domain member).

Check event log make for specific error entry.

Try disable Windows firewall then check the issue again.

To identify where the problem is, we might need to perform a network capture from both of client and server side by using network monitor.

Figured out the issue. A guy (i.e. Me) was running a test using DNSSEC through GPO. I thought I had turned off the GPO when done testing but apparently not. That tablet was in the OU that was being tested.

Thanks for all your attempted help. Gave me ideas on where to look at if other issues arise.
