DNS issues windows 7; tried several things
Ive tried several things to resolve this issue including:
/flush dns
setting dns to an explicit ip address (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220)
factory reboot of entire system
to no avail. In fact, where once the issue was intermittent, it is now complete: i cannot connect to the internet.
My computer runs on Windows 7 and is a TOSHIBA Satellite L455D
I rely on Wifi connections, mostly at the same 2 or 3 locations
please help, this has become an enormous thorn in my side.

Do you mean this problem occurs in three different network environment? If so, please use the DNS server address which provided from ISP.
Also I suggest that you may try following steps to troubleshot this problem:
1.
Use “ipconfig -all” to export the IP configuration post the result here.
